SONA 2K14

SONA, What have been done?

Another year has gone and the president will again be reporting what has been done in the past years. The big question is, is there a big improvement during his time of regime?

In his fifth year of delivering his State of the Nation Address, people kept on wondering what the president has done for the country. There’s this DAP or the Disbursement Acceleration Program that he keeps on talking about which contributed lots of money to TESDA which enables many students from this program to graduate. Well, people might say that our president is not credible for there are few improvements that we see. We can’t blame citizens of our country for their reaction about the SONA because we can’t seem to see the improvements the president has been talking about.

According to the president, he is contented with the accomplishments of his administrations. But does these accomplishments that he has done worth it for the people? The president stated about the country’s growing economy, the poverty’s alleviation, as well as the government’s speedy response about the typhoon “Yolanda”. Another question is, are these accomplishments he’s saying really was accomplished?

The president stated that they worked to have the ability of the fund the projects they have implemented, the project they are implementing and the project that he will be implementing. There are many efforts of the government especially the times of the Yolanda-typhoon. They exerted they’re power and energy for the people to be okay. He stated that the roads, airports and the endless repairs for Tacloban was immediately responded but through the action of the government that the people see, they having second thoughts on this acknowledgements the president have spoken.

It is very common that the president is always giving promises during State of the Nation Address. But the despite the said achievements and plan of the government, there are many protesters that marched during the occurrence of the SONA and according to this protesters that he is the Pork Barrel King but the president didn’t mentioned anything about the PDAF.

Despite all these allegations and accusations to Pnoy, he still keeps his integrity that he has no involvement with the said PDAF. And to him, there is progression of the country and it is because of the success of his leadership. As he always say, we are his’ boss and he always try to navigate the straight path.

With his SONA, he expressed his self in a way that the citizen may understand him. Maybe in the next years, there will be many improvements of our country and with those, the citizen wished that they can already see the promises and the achievements the president have been talking about. They prospect a very good action about the economic problems in our country and not only tell it but do it. For me, the SONA is credible but I expect for the much improvement of the country and show it to the citizens of the Philippines because citizens only believe what they saw. Until our faith and trust is still whole, it is proven that the Filipino is worth dying for, the Filipino is worth living for. And added to that, the Filipino is definitely worth fighting for.

REFLECTION : FIRST QUARTER

ICT IS FUN

June 2, 2014 when we came back in our school to start a new school year. And now, the first quarter of the school year is already done. And just like I didn't notice it that the first quarter is already over. And I really learned a lot after the first quarter of this year 2014-2015. And of the subject that I've really learned a lotis the ICT.

Ever since I was first year, ICT is already one of my favorite subject. Because I am really interested on what we are doing during this subject and what our teachers taught to us. just like last year, we are just like programmers. And my love for this subject never fades. During my first quarter with our teacher Mrs. Evelyn Vera Cruz, I've really learned a lot. One of it is about the Internet. Which started in the year 1983.  But the topic that really catch my interest is about blog. And on this topic I've really learned a lot.  If last year we are programmers,  this year we also experienced being a blogger. I've learned a lot just like creating a post and publishing it, changing it's template and background picture and many more about blog. And of course I learned about the different personalities and their contribution on the development of Internet.  One of it is Vinton Cerf,  the father of Internet. The only thing that I've encountered a problem is  on  combining search terms.  During the scavenger hunt,  I've encountered this on how to apply the so called phrase searching, Boolean logic, pseudo-Boolean logic, and term weighing. Then after that I encountered it, I scanned again mu notes and remind what my teacher taught us and told to us what to do. And I was able to passed that problem. But all in all, first quarter is really fun and exciting.

Moving on, I will be doing my very best on any activities in this subject to prove that I am deserving to be in the special science class.  And of course my love love will never fade on this subject I hope that the other quarters will be more interesting and fun to learn.

INSIGHT FOR THE THEME OF NUTRITION MONTH 2014

Healthy Body to Any Calamity

As we all know, the month of July is the annual celebration for the Nutrition Month in the Philippines. And the theme for the 2014 Nutrition Month Celebration is “Kalamidad Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan”.  But some people tend to still ask, why we need to celebrate it. So what really is the reason? What are the aim/goals of it?

According to PH ACCESS, there are three goals of celebrating it. First, to promote intervention to address nutritional needs in emergencies and disaster. Second, to mobilize responders particularly the local nutritional clusters and stakeholders to address gaps in nutrition in emergencies response from national barangay levels. And last, to increase awareness among families and individuals on coping and resiliency strategies to prevent malnutrition and worsening nutritional slams in times of emergencies and disasters. All of the aims or goals are related to our health and to disasters. That’s why they come up with the theme, “Kalamidad Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan”. The theme is very appropriate because as we all know, our country have experienced already many calamities or disasters that causes deaths to many people here in the Philippines.

The theme reminds us to become healthy for any calamity that we will face in the future. Let us gave importance in celebrating the Nutrition month. Because being healthy means being ready to any calamity.
