CLIMATE

Change for Climate Change

“Only the word PERMANENT is permanent in this world”

This statement proved that all of the things around are not stable.  Nothing in this world will still be at its original appearance after how many years of existence above the earth. Just like when you have a new car, after how many years it will have rust, the color of the car is not shiny as that when it was bought and many more changes will occur. This is one example only that proved that nothing is permanent.

On the other hand, when we talk about our climate, it really changes a lot already and the problem is it still continuing to change. If we experienced for the past years that the weather is okay, the temperature of the surrounding is normal, now it has already change. Temperature is really different compares to the past. We are now experiencing high temperature. This is the sign that the climate really changed already. Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for an extended period of time. Climate change may refer to a change in average weather conditions, or in the time variation of weather around longer-term average conditions.

We must be informed   about this because Climate change is one of the most fundamental challenges ever to confront humanity. Its adverse impacts are already being seen and may intensify exponentially over time if nothing is done to reduce further emissions of greenhouse gases. Decisively dealing NOW with climate change is key to ensuring sustainable development, poverty eradication and safeguarding economic growth. Scientific assessments indicate that the cost of inaction now will be more costly in the future. Thus, economic development needs to be shifted to a low-carbon emission path.

Human health is one of the most vital sectors which will be severely affected by climate change. Incremental increases in temperatures and rain regimes could trigger a number of adverse impacts; in particular, the outbreak and spread of water-based and vector-borne diseases leading to higher morbidity and mortality; increased incidence of pulmonary illnesses among young children and cardiovascular diseases among the elderly. In addition, there could also be increased health risk from poor air quality especially in urbanized areas.

So we must act for the climate change. We must do our part in taking care our self and environment. We must change for climate change.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity

“Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity: A Powerful Relationship”

Men and women have roles – their roles are different, but their rights are equal.
                                                     -Harri Holkeri

All of us humans, created to live in this world, have our own rights and opportunities. Girl or boy, lesbian or gay, normal people or with disability, rich or people, every one of us must be treated equally.  Yes! Many people believe on this. But, does EQUALITY between humans really exist this time?

When I heard the word EQUALITY, the first thing that comes to my mind is about men and women. We know one of the things or issue that we are facing is the Gender Equality. Being treated by someone equally even though if you are men or women. But for my opinion, based from my observation, Equality this time doesn’t still exist. We have the so called DISCRIMINATION.It’s an action that denies social participation or human rights to categories of people based on prejudice. This includes treatment of an individual or group based on their actual or perceived membership in a certain group or social category, "in a way that is worse than the way people are usually treated". Many of us under estimate the women when it comes to doing things, right? Doing heavy things, means we need a men to do it. That is what we know. But we must be treated equally. If men like me can do things what women can do, women can also what we do. Some examples of this are, this time boys are the one who is doing the household chores while girls are the one who is doing their job for her family, right? Everyone shall know what our right is. We must be treated equally, no discrimination, no abuse, no favouritism.
In the eye of our creator, we are all equal. We have the equal rights and opportunities in this world. And if this equality will exist, men and women will have a powerful relationship. A Powerful relationship to a better country.

SCIENCE MONTH CELEBRATION

Science Month 2k14

Every month of September, annually we celebrate the so called, National Science Month Celebration. And the theme for this year 2014 goes like this, " Immunation : Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defences towards National Wellmess". Sounds like it was very complicated right?

God gave us these very beautiful paradise to care. And gave us life to care for it and to use us as his guardian to his creatures. In the past years, people were not experiencing many calamities and illnesses. Not like this day, there are already many diseases was discovered and we already experience it. For me, base from my observation, it is caused by our surroundings also. Because we people don't care what is happening in our environment. We just threw our garbage on whatever or whenever we want. And these are so many live microorganisms that can cause us ill.

This year's science club month theme is very timely. Because we know that we are facing many problems related to our health already. And by this theme, it reminds us to know more about these diseases that can damage our health and how to take care our environment. This will help people to realize what really the value of our health.

Everyone of us is a Science clubbers. We can be guardian of mother earth. We will face together on any problems and be armed. We must act now ! ! !

MODERN HERO

 My Parents, My Hero

Hero!!! When one heard of this word, the first thing that will come to their mind or the first thing that they will say that he is Superman, Batman, or Cat woman, etc. This idea is very common to us already when it comes to HERO.

For me, heroes are not only the one with super powers or the one that save life of the others. Everyone of us can be a hero in our own way. And my heroes of my life is, my father and my mother.

Why did I say that my parents are my hero? Simply because, they are the one who took care of me and they are the reason why I am right here now. They've done everything and sacrificed everything just to support me for my needs as well as the needs of our family. And also the most important thing about them is, they really love me very much. They are the first one who helped me especially in my downfalls. They are the one who gave me hope, to achieve my dreams. For me, my parents is my true treasure. They are the best gift and the best hero I've ever had. And I thank God, because he gave me this two people who really care, love and fight for me. Without them, I am nothing.

Heroes are not only the one who save people with their supernatural powers they have. Anyone can be a hero on their own way. And I consider my father and my mother as my hero. Without them, I wouldn't be here right now where I am standing right now. Just like in the saying by Michael Jordan, " My heroes are and were my parents, I cannot see having anyone else as my heroes" .

SONA 2K14

SONA, What have been done?

Another year has gone and the president will again be reporting what has been done in the past years. The big question is, is there a big improvement during his time of regime?

In his fifth year of delivering his State of the Nation Address, people kept on wondering what the president has done for the country. There’s this DAP or the Disbursement Acceleration Program that he keeps on talking about which contributed lots of money to TESDA which enables many students from this program to graduate. Well, people might say that our president is not credible for there are few improvements that we see. We can’t blame citizens of our country for their reaction about the SONA because we can’t seem to see the improvements the president has been talking about.

According to the president, he is contented with the accomplishments of his administrations. But does these accomplishments that he has done worth it for the people? The president stated about the country’s growing economy, the poverty’s alleviation, as well as the government’s speedy response about the typhoon “Yolanda”. Another question is, are these accomplishments he’s saying really was accomplished?

The president stated that they worked to have the ability of the fund the projects they have implemented, the project they are implementing and the project that he will be implementing. There are many efforts of the government especially the times of the Yolanda-typhoon. They exerted they’re power and energy for the people to be okay. He stated that the roads, airports and the endless repairs for Tacloban was immediately responded but through the action of the government that the people see, they having second thoughts on this acknowledgements the president have spoken.

It is very common that the president is always giving promises during State of the Nation Address. But the despite the said achievements and plan of the government, there are many protesters that marched during the occurrence of the SONA and according to this protesters that he is the Pork Barrel King but the president didn’t mentioned anything about the PDAF.

Despite all these allegations and accusations to Pnoy, he still keeps his integrity that he has no involvement with the said PDAF. And to him, there is progression of the country and it is because of the success of his leadership. As he always say, we are his’ boss and he always try to navigate the straight path.

With his SONA, he expressed his self in a way that the citizen may understand him. Maybe in the next years, there will be many improvements of our country and with those, the citizen wished that they can already see the promises and the achievements the president have been talking about. They prospect a very good action about the economic problems in our country and not only tell it but do it. For me, the SONA is credible but I expect for the much improvement of the country and show it to the citizens of the Philippines because citizens only believe what they saw. Until our faith and trust is still whole, it is proven that the Filipino is worth dying for, the Filipino is worth living for. And added to that, the Filipino is definitely worth fighting for.
