3rd Grading: Reflection

Its Over Again

For this 3rd Grading period, our subject doesn’t still disappoint me. Our topics in every subject for this grading is very interesting and amazing to learn especially on the subject ICT.

This grading, we have a very hectic schedule especially the student like us who are attending contests and seminars like in Investigatory project and In the School’s press conferences. But even if we have this kind of schedule, we still try to pass what we’ve missed. For me, the most interesting part for this grading is the topic in our ICT subject and it is all about creating a web page. All that we’ve learned is all about on how web pages are created using Html and this was also our project for this grading. This project was a web page that is all about Vigan which is already announced as one of the new seven wonder cities of the world. I was so proud of myself that my group and I was successful in doing and creating a web page.

Despite of all those interesting topics, I still overcome many problems especially on Calculus. But I will still do my best to overcome those problems for the next grading. I will do all my responsibilities and I will strive and give all because it is already the last grading for this school year, and our last grading in being a high school student.

Hello 2015!!!

NEW YEAR, NEW ME

Time passed by really so fast. And it is now the time to say goodbye and thank you for the year 2014 and saying hello for the year of the wood goat, the year of 2015. It is also now our tradition for having a new year’s resolution, right? Resolutions that we will try to do for the year 2015; to make our life better.

This year 2015 is the year for me to change all the negative attitudes. I will do all my responsibilities in my life, especially in school. One of my resolutions for this year is passing my projects or activities on time, reading all my notes and many more. But most importantly is striving harder to be able to achieve my goals in life because every year, life gives us a chance for a new life, a new way to live our life. The sense of celebrating New Year is to leave all our mental stress, our negative emotions, our past histories and everything that makes us unhappy behind, so that we can become a new person with a new life. For me, New Year does not mean that something finishes, but that something new starts, like a small birth. The New Year celebration brings us, new energy and a positive mind, which is the essence of the New Year. The New Year can make us into a new person who lives his/her life in a new way. The gift of the New Year is the opportunity for a complete new birth.

To receive the chance for change we have to promise ourselves to discipline us. Whatever we promise ourselves needs to be combined with discipline; otherwise, we just go back into our old structures. With discipline, our promises can become real. One discipline can help and save us in many difficult situations in our life.

If we really want a new life, we need discipline.

Christmas

THE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

It's that time of year again. December has come and with it all the joys of Christmas. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets? Is this really Christmas?
For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. Turkey dinners may be only a wish and not a reality for some.

Yet, Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. You see, Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all shared in the excitement of knowing about this great event. They knew this was no ordinary baby. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years before. The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the way for those who were looking for this special child.

We can truly be happy at Christmas! No matter what may be happening, we can know that we are His children. We then become sons and daughters of God. Heaven will be our home one day. Look at Christmas in a new way this year. This is the year to invite Jesus into your heart. You will then have a "Merry Christmas." The joy and peace you will receive will last all year as you look to God for all your needs to be met.

Jesus Is The Reason For The Season! Rejoice!

CLIMATE

Change for Climate Change

“Only the word PERMANENT is permanent in this world”

This statement proved that all of the things around are not stable.  Nothing in this world will still be at its original appearance after how many years of existence above the earth. Just like when you have a new car, after how many years it will have rust, the color of the car is not shiny as that when it was bought and many more changes will occur. This is one example only that proved that nothing is permanent.

On the other hand, when we talk about our climate, it really changes a lot already and the problem is it still continuing to change. If we experienced for the past years that the weather is okay, the temperature of the surrounding is normal, now it has already change. Temperature is really different compares to the past. We are now experiencing high temperature. This is the sign that the climate really changed already. Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for an extended period of time. Climate change may refer to a change in average weather conditions, or in the time variation of weather around longer-term average conditions.

We must be informed   about this because Climate change is one of the most fundamental challenges ever to confront humanity. Its adverse impacts are already being seen and may intensify exponentially over time if nothing is done to reduce further emissions of greenhouse gases. Decisively dealing NOW with climate change is key to ensuring sustainable development, poverty eradication and safeguarding economic growth. Scientific assessments indicate that the cost of inaction now will be more costly in the future. Thus, economic development needs to be shifted to a low-carbon emission path.

Human health is one of the most vital sectors which will be severely affected by climate change. Incremental increases in temperatures and rain regimes could trigger a number of adverse impacts; in particular, the outbreak and spread of water-based and vector-borne diseases leading to higher morbidity and mortality; increased incidence of pulmonary illnesses among young children and cardiovascular diseases among the elderly. In addition, there could also be increased health risk from poor air quality especially in urbanized areas.

So we must act for the climate change. We must do our part in taking care our self and environment. We must change for climate change.

ENGLISH MONTH CELEBRATION

“OUTPOURING THE HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH ENGLISH PROFECIENCY AND LITERACY”

Annually, the Department of Education kick off the whole nation for the National Reading Month Celebration. This is in support to of the Ten-Point Education Agenda of the Aquino Administration. This celebration promotes the Every Child a Reader Program ECARP), and to commemorate the Anniversary of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. who was born on November 27, 1932 and his passionate love for reading.  And the theme for this year goes like this, “Nasa Pagbasa ang Pag-asa” and ISNHS customized it,

“OUTPOURING THE HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH ENGLISH PROFECIENCY AND LITERACY”

This practical and creative tool aims to enhance every Filipino child a knowledgeable reader and writer appropriate for his/her grade level. The English club are enjoined to hold activities for this month celebration. There are many activities were done for the students to improve and sharpen their skills and knowledge about English. Some of these activities are Spelling, Reader’s Theatre, Jazz Chants, Speech Choir and many more.

The importance of reading is very essential to drill in the minds and hearts of every Filipino. Even if he/she is still young, it is very important to enhance our skills in reading. We should have enough knowledge in English because this will help us a lot to our journey. Through this we can do travelling around the world, discover other cultures of people and many more. Through this skills and knowledge, I can say that it is possible that we will be successful someday.
